Selection Of Drinks

Below are some popular selections of drinks you can expect at Cedar Rapids’ Booze-a-Palooza.

Beer is an alcoholic beverage made from water, grains (such as barley, wheat, or rye), hops, and yeast. According to The Brewers Association, Beer is one of the most popular alcoholic drinks in the U.S. Thus, you can expect to find a lot of beer at the Booze-a-Palooza.

You can expect several beer types at this festival from notable breweries in Cedar Rapids. One notable brewery is Lion Bridge Brewing Company, known for its creative and flavorful beers. They have a variety of year-round and seasonal offerings, including Compensation (notes of biscuit, toffee, and chocolate), Yard Sale (juicy flavor), and Bridge Beer (the breweries take on light beer).

Wine is another alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes. Cedar Rapids is known for producing fruity and semi-sweet wines, particularly those made from grapes such as the Edelweiss, St. Croix, and Marquette varieties. The climate and soil conditions are well-suited for growing these grapes, which tend to produce wines with a distinctly fruity taste. Many wineries also use local fruits such as apples, cherries, and blackberries to make fruit wines, which are popular at the Booze-a-Palooza Fest.

Other popular wine flavors include dry whites like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. However, the unique growing conditions and winemaking techniques in Cedar Rapids have led to the development of many distinct and flavorful wines not commonly found elsewhere.

Seltzer is a carbonated water that has no added flavors or sweeteners. The most common flavor of seltzer is plain or unflavored, as seltzer is typically consumed as a low-calorie alternative to soda or other sugary drinks. However, flavored varieties of seltzer are also available, which can add a hint of sweetness or fruitiness to the drink. These include lime, lemon, grapefruit, berry, tropical, and mint.

Cider is an unfermented beverage made by crushing fruit, usually apples. There are different varieties of ciders at the Booze-a-Palooza, including classic cider (which has a crisp and dry taste), sweet cider (which has a sweet taste because it is made from sweet apples), and spiced cider (which is made with nutmeg, cinnamon, and other similar spices).

Canned Cocktails

Canned cocktails are alcoholic beverages that do not require any further mixing or preparation before consumption. These cocktails are usually made with a base liquor, such as vodka, gin, or tequila. They’re then combined with various components, including fruit juices, syrups, and bitters. The final product is a ready-to-consume tasty drink.

Champagne is a sparkling wine variety. It comes exclusively in the Champagne region of France, located about 90 miles northeast of Paris. Additionally, it’s often associated with celebration and is considered a symbol of luxury. Champagne is only available to VIP guests, who can sample it at the “Champagne Courtyard.”
